Summer 2014 (2014)

Brazil

Focus on  evangelism and storying among the nearby non-believing Quillombola community, and prospect of biblical and pastoral training among local believing community, led by Dr. David Sills.

Southeast Asia
Features evangelism among an unreached people group (stop by the Bevin Center, or call for more detailed information).

South Asia
Focus on evangelism among unreached peoples, discipleship and teaching local church leaders and believers, led by Dr. Brian Vickers.

Southern France
Supporting local church planting initiatives and evangelistic efforts along the coast and piers of Southern France in areas of high international traffic and Muslim influence, led by Dr. Jeff Walters.

Our national trips will focus on revitalization and church planting efforts in key US cities, supporting local evangelistic outreach and discipleship in surrounding communities.

Utah † Apply
Campus Evangelism at BYU, University of Utah, and Utah State, as well as dialogue and close interaction with Mormon students, faculty, and LDS church leaders in small group settings.  Close interaction and conversation with local evangelical church planters and leaders concerning ministry challenges and strategies among the Mormon majority.

DATES: Spring Reading Days were extended to TWO WEEKS for the 2014 school year.  All trips during Spring Reading Days will occur Mon, March 31- Mon, April 7. Stay tuned for details on the following locations.

Summer (2013)

* Application deadline for summer trips is May 1, 2013.

Boston – June 22-29
This trip will expose students to a variety of urban ministries and church plants in the Boston area.  The trip is led by NAMB church planting mobilizer Aaron Harvie.  Approximate cost is $1000.

Western Central Asia – June 29-July 6
This trip will be led by the dean of the Graham School and will feature sports ministry as a venue for evangelism.  Approximate cost is $3,000.

 

Spring Reading Days (2013)

Buenos Aires, Argentina – March 30 -April 5
This trip features urban Bible storying and training with local leaders.  The trip will be led by Dr. Jeff Walters.  Approximate cost is $2,500.

Chicago, IL – March 30-April 5
Spend spring reading days in the Windy City!  Work along side church planters in a variety of urban contexts.  Dr. Mark Coppenger is leading this trip.  Approximate cost is $600.

 

Winter Break (2012-2013)

East Asia – December 8-22
This trip features pastoral training among leadership networks, mostly in urban settings.  The trip will be led by Dr. David Sills.  Approximate cost is $2,900.

Southeast Asia – January
This trip features evangelism among an unreached island people group.  Approximate cost is $2,900.

 

Fall Break (2012)

Togo, West Africa – Sept. 29-Oct. 7
This trip features ethnographic research among unreached people groups in rural Togo.  The trip will be led by Anthony Casey.  Approximate cost is $2,700.

Nashville, TN – Fall Break – Oct. 1-5
Urban ministry in Nashville led by Dr. Jeff Walters.  32330 Urban Evangelism & Church Growth will be taught onsite.  Mornings will be spent in the classroom and afternoons and evenings will be spent in the city doing ministry.  Approximate cost is $300.

All trips, dates, and costs are tentative and subject to change.  Spots are limited so apply early.  Students may take 44930 Applied Ministry and 33150 Area Studies: Missions in conjunction with the trips.  Tuition and trip scholarships are available.  To apply for a trip, fill out the application linked below and bring a $100 deposit to the Bevin Center in Honeycutt 218.  Email missions@sbts.edu or stop by the Bevin Center with any questions.
