The Story of the 1937 Project
In 1937, the Ohio River flooded the city of Louisville and caused massive devastation. Southern Seminary was on high ground, and thus had a unique position to help, rowing out in boats to help stranded people, housing individuals on campus, and even providing temporary office space for the mayor. In honor of that historic event, every year Southern Seminary serves the city of Louisville through the 1937 Project.
